Fight stigma with the Flight2Freedom Festival!

Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day

On May 6 2017 Family Connection hosted it's first County wide Flight2Freedom from Stigma Festival at the 1895 Tarrant County Courthouse in downtown Fort Worth. Attendees stomped down stigma by walking around the courthouse and took the flight to freedom from mental health stigma by releasing paper butterflies. Then the fun continued with a DJ, face painting, an art project, yoga and Tai Chi demonstrations, and Dallas Cowboys Mascot Rowdy signing autographs. There was also some great door prizes, including a flat-screen TV. It was a free festival and this is something Family Connection plans to continue each year for children's mental health awareness day.
